Daniel Edouard ( photo source: haitiansensation.com ) Haitianite.com is about promoting and uplifting Haitian values and so we have come across one of our own. Mr. Daniel Edouard, he is also known as the Haitian Sensation. Below is an excerpt of his biography.
Daniel Edouard was born on November 23, 1980, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Daniel seems to possess a boxing mindset, which can be attributed to boxers from a long forgotten era of the early 20th century. Daniel has had his head on collisions with some of the top veteran and new middleweight pugilist. The good news is that Daniel has won most of the fights, shocking his opponents with powerful body shots and some real neat over the top straight right hands.
He has been through many devastating challenges in his life. Some of them were so challenging that it could have destroyed any other man but not Daniel. Daniel knows how to fight back, inside and outside the ring. He was raised in the church by his gospel ordained parents. Daniel endured all those hardships, which are associated with being a preacher’s child. He faced the rage of racism; he went through the taunts thrown at him due to his nationality. The coincidence is that it was a brush with the law that made him a winner that he is today. When he was attending a program dedicated to troubled youths, Daniel got introduced to boxing through his counselor Jackie Manuel. Jackie not only talked Daniel through it but also got him his first pair of boxing gloves. Jackie left the program sometime later but the dream of being a boxer was already firmly planted in Daniel’s soul.
Daniel graduated from the program and joined the Royal Palm Beach Police Athletic League’s boxing team. There he met a trainer named Rob Decesare and this was the starting of a new life for him. Rob guided Daniel and soon he won the PAL National Title. Within a short period of time, he also got a number two ranking on the national level as a junior light-heavyweight. At the same time, his life was also being fostered by the 100 Black Men of Palm Beach County. He got a lot of positive reinforcement in the boxing gym and the much required mental and emotional support of the 100 Black Men. This helped Daniel to graduate from Gold Coast Community High School. The proudest moment for Daniel came when he was asked to deliver the graduation speech.
Currently, Daniel is enrolled at Palm Beach Atlantic University and will be graduating in the fall of 2006. He will receive his Bachelors degree in Organizational Management and a minor in Biblical Studies. Daniel has recently entered the world of entrepreneurs by starting a non-profit organization called Grace of Sharing. This company will provide an opportunity to the youth of the world to help them accomplish their dreams through music, dance, theater and sports. Daniel’s personal motto is “You are only one decision from either greatness or defeat.”

Former U.S.B.A. Middleweight Championship, won in 2004
